Roche Platform Transition
This page compares reference ranges between the Roche and Beckman platforms for the selected category of tests. For a description of the transition from the Beckman to Roche automated chemistry platform, please see the Chemistry and Immunoassay Beckman to Roche Transition Guideline.
Method Comparison
The comparison table contains the following columns:
- Trendable?: Indicates whether both methods use the same component code and results are trendable in Epic.
- Bias: The average absolute difference between Roche and Beckman results. A positive value means Roche results are higher on average.
- Percent Bias: Blue shading and bars extending left indicate negative bias (Beckman higher on average); orange shading and bars extending right indicate positive bias (Roche higher on average). Longer bars indicate greater magnitude.
- Slope: The slope of the linear regression of Roche onto Beckman, representing proportional bias between the methods. “Not comparable” indicates that the methods were too poorly correlated for direct patient-result comparison.
- R2 (Coefficient of Determination): How closely the regression fits the paired results.
These data can help when comparing results across platforms, but should not be used to convert a result directly from one method to the other.
