This test is intended for the identification of parasitic helminths such as roundworms or tapeworms.

Specimen Type: Worm or worm segment
Collection: Submit worm or worm segment in clean, closed container. Do NOT add saline, formalin or other preservative.
Handling Instructions: Transport at room temperature to lab as soon as possible.
Quantity: Requested: Entire worm or worm segment
Minimum: Entire worm or worm segment

Receiving Instructions: If paddle or tape prep is received for pinworm exam, order PINP.

UW-MT:

Dayshift: Give specimen to Parasitology MLS2 or Lead

Offshift: Leave at room temperature in Parasitology basket. Leave note on white board in setup.
