    Receiving Instructions

    Centrifuge sample, aliquot plasma into two separate plastic vials, and freeze within 2 hours of collection. If sample volume is insufficient, prioritize the Sendout test.

    • RC5B9L (Sendout Battery): Store in the Sendouts -20°C freezer rack.
    • UW431 (ImmStudy SC5b-9 Level): Store in the Immunology -70°C freezer rack.

    • Send samples on dry ice with a copy of the MayoAccess Batch Sheet via DLMP or DE courier.
    • Urgent Sample Handling: In select cases, providers may arrange with SEACHL to perform testing on an unscheduled day. If approved, the LMR will contact SPS/Sendouts asking lab staff to prioritize transport.
      • Write "STAT" next to the associated order on the outgoing MayoAccess Batch Sheet to ensure urgent processing at intake.
      • Urgent samples should be sent immediately via Delivery Express to ensure that they reach Children's before the cutoff for the designated run.

    Stability: Frozen (preferred): 6 months; Refrigerated: 24 hours; Ambient: 8 hours.
