Epic Ordering
Renal Pulmonary Failure Panel, Acute
Description

The PRFAIL battery is ONLY available with Lab Medicine Resident approval.

The PRFAIL battery will be run on a prioritized schedule with Lab Medicine Resident approval. When ordered with LMR priority approval, testing will be performed on the day of the order, when feasible, or the next working day Monday- Friday (except UW holidays).
Price includes a surcharge to cover the costs associated with prioritized testing.

Prioritized testing for anti MDA5 may be ordered separately with approval of the LMR. A prioritized test for anti-MDA5 may be indicated for suspected autoimmune lung disease patients with acute pulmonary disease without acute kidney disease, especially if results of testing for antibodies to GBM, MPO and PR3 are all negative or indeterminate.
See individual panels and tests (ANCAP, AGBM, ANARC, AMDA5) for routine orders. Rapid turnaround for anti-GBM, anti-MPO, anti-PR3, anti-dsDNA qualitative, and ANA subsets. ANCA by IFA, anti MDA5 and quantitative anti-dsDNA testing performed with next scheduled run.
If the interest is to order the individual components of the PRFAIL panel without prioritized testing we recommend that individual ‘ANA subset’ tests be ordered together as the ANARC (ANA Reflex Comprehensive panel), rather than ordering individual ANA subset tests. The ANCA panel can be ordered (which includes antiPr3 and anti-MPO, and the ANCA immunofluorescence test (ANCAIF). Anti-GBM can also be ordered as a separate test.
