Specimen Type: Blood
Collection: Preferred: 7 mL Blood in PEARL TOP [(EDTA) (PPT)] TubeAlso Acceptable: Lavender Top (EDTA) or Red Top Tube
Handling Instructions: Whole blood may be stored at 2 to 8 °C. Plasma and serum samples may be stored at 2 to 8 °C for up to 7 days.
Quantity: requested: 2 mL plasma or serum

Processing: Pearl Top: Centrifuge and Refrigerate entire spun tube. Lavender Top: Centrifuge, aliquot plasma into polypropylene tube and Refrigerate. Red Top: Centrifuge, aliquot serum into polypropylene tube and Refrigerate.
