The detection of Candida auris colonization by real-time PCR amplification. The assay has been optimized using the CDC published primer and probes sequences for the C. auris ITS2 gene. The lower limit of detection, LoD (the minimum CFU level that gives a positive result in 95% of replicates), confirmed at 30 CFU/mL.
This test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by the University of Washington Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology. It has not been cleared or approved by the US Food and Drug Administration.
