Description

Test Information: The Prometheus IBD sgi Diagnostic test combines serologic, genetic, and inflammation markers in the proprietary Smart Diagnostic Algorithm for added diagnostic clarity. This test aids healthcare providers in differentiating IBD vs non-IBD and CD vs UC in one comprehensive blood test. This assay includes 9 serological markers ASCA IgA, ASCA IgG and proprietary markers anti-Fla-X, anti-A4-Fla2, anti-CBir1, anti-OMPC, and DNAse-sensitive pANCA that helps identify patients with IBD and utilizes Smart Diagnostic Algorithm Technology to improve the predictive accuracy. Genetic susceptibility influences immune responses and this assay includes evaluation of ATG16L1, STAT3, NKX2-3, and ECM1. Inflammatory markers include VEGF, ICAM-1, VCAM-1, CRP, SAA.

Ordering Note: Providers must specifically request "IBD sgi" or "Prometheus IBD sgi Diagnostic" in the LABUND order. For IBD serology testing, refer to separate entry for Inflammatory Bowel Disease Serology Panel, #546.

Ordering Requirements: Orders from UW Medicine Gastroenterology and Digestive Health clinics, Seattle Gastroenterology locations (Meridian/MSGINW or Fremont/FSGINW), or UW-NW Seattle Arthritis are pre-approved. Orders from other locations require Laboratory Medicine Resident approval.

This test requires two sample types. Collect both:

  • 6 mL blood in RED TOP tube or GOLD SST
  • 3 mL LAVENDER TOP (EDTA) tube
Approval Required
Pre-approved for select locations (see Test Description). Orders from other locations require LMR approval.
Handling Instructions

Outside Laboratories:

  • Red/Gold SST: Centrifuge sample and transfer serum to a separate plastic vial. Refrigerate serum while awaiting shipment.
  • Lavender Tube: Refrigerate whole blood while awaiting shipment. Do not centrifuge.
  • Transport samples with a cold pack. Send samples together to avoid delays.

Stability: Refrigerated (preferred): 21 days; Ambient: 4 days; Frozen: Unacceptable.

  • Ship samples refrigerated, Monday through Friday, via FedEx Prioirity Overnight.
  • If sending samples on a Friday, select the FedEx Saturday Delivery option.
