Description

The Serum Paraneoplastic Autoantibody Panel (RPNPV/PAVAL) is no longer available as of June 1, 2026. A comprehensive neurological phenotype-specific autoimmune/paraneoplastic evaluation (e.g. encephalopathy, movement disorders, myelopathy, axonal neuropathy, etc.) should be considered. For additional guidance, review the Autoimmune Encephalitis Testing Recommendations or consult the Laboratory Medicine Resident on-call. An alternative panel that contains all 9 autoantibodies in the Serum Paraneoplastic Autoantibody Panel is the Serum Autoimmune/Paraneoplastic Encephalopathy Panel (24 autoantibodies). For a list of antibodies performed for each evaluation, refer to the Mayo Autoimmune Neurology Antibody Matrix. This document also includes a useful table listing the frequency of oncologic associations for each autoantibody.
