Method Information:
The TREK Sensititre YeastOne® susceptibility test panel is a colorimetric micro-dilution susceptibility test to determine quantitative antifungal susceptibilities of Candida sp. Antifungal agents tested are in ranges of concentrations as well as the colorimetric indicator of growth, alamar blue. Panels are innoculated with a standardized suspension of organisms and incubation at 35C for 24 to 48 hours. The minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC) for the test organism are determined by assessing the lowest antifungal concentration showing inhibition of growth as evidenced by no color change.
This test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by the University of Washington Department of Laboratory Medicine. It has not been cleared or approved by the US Food and Drug Administration. This test is used for clinical purposes. It should not be regarded as investigational or for research. This laboratory is certified under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) as qualified to perform high complexity clinical laboratory testing.
