Interferences and Limitations

Biotin is known to interfere with this assay. Patients should not take supplements or multivitamins containing biotin for at least 24 hours before blood collection.

Heparin is known to interfere with this assay. Patients should not on heparin therapy.

Collection: 6 mL blood in RED TOP tube or GOLD SST

Patient Preparation: Biotin is known to interfere with this assay. Patients should not take supplements or multivitamins containing biotin for at least 24 hours before blood collection. Patients should not be receiving heparin treatment.
Handling Instructions:  Freeze @ -20°C.
Quantity: Requested: 1.0 mL
Minimum: 0.75 mL

Processing

Receiving Instructions: Centrifuge sample and transfer 1 mL serum to a plastic aliquot tube.
Freeze at -20°C in the Chemistry frozen rack (SP58).
