Reportable Range:

  • Positive results reported in ng/mL from 0.20 ng/mL to 20.00 ng/mL.
  • Positive results above 20.00 ng/mL are reported as "Above the Limit of Quantification."
Interferences and Limitations

Cautions: Sodium hydroxide and sputolysin. Cross-reactivity occurs between blastomycosis and histoplasmosis, and in Paracoccidioidomycosis, penicillosis, coccidioidomycosis, aspergillosis, and sporotrichosis.

Outside Laboratories: Centrifuge sample and transfer serum to a separate plastic vial. Refrigerate serum.

Stability: Refrigerated (preferred): 14 days; Frozen: Frozen: Indefinitely; Ambient: Unacceptable.

Reject Due To: Specimen that is too viscous to pipette. Tissue, biopsy, sputum, bronchial aspirate, FNA, bone marrow aspirate, stool or samples in transport media, fixative or Isolator tubes.
