Collection Instructions:
- Pre-chill a LAVENDER TOP (EDTA) tube by placing on wet ice.
- Draw 5 mL blood into the pre-chilled tube.
- After drawing, place tube back into wet ice and transport immediately to the laboratory.
- Handling Instructions
Outside Laboratories: Centrifuge sample in a refrigerated centrifuge. Immediately after centrifugation, aliquot plasma to a separate plastic vial and freeze plasma at -20°C. Transport on dry ice.
Stability: Frozen: 90 days; Refrigerated: Unacceptable; Ambient: Unacceptable.
Reject Due To: Gross hemolysis. Gross lipemia and gross icterus: Acceptable.
