  • Also Accepted: 6 mL blood in LAVENDER TOP (EDTA) tube

Pediatric Draws: 1 full 3 mL PINK or LAVENDER (EDTA) tube; Neonate: 2 full 0.5 mL EDTA microtainers (PINK or LAVENDER)

Unacceptable: SST or GEL tubes

Dual Signatures Required: All Blood Bank samples require dual signatures (person collecting the specimen/performing positive patient ID and a second verifier) on the Bloodworks Northwest request form and on the sample label(s).

Receiving Instructions

Store and transport whole blood at ambient temperature.

Send samples as received to Bloodworks Northwest via DLMP or Delivery Express courier.
