Preferred:4 mL blood in LIME GREEN PST tube
Also Acceptable: 4 mL blood in ORANGE RST, GOLD SST, RED TOP or GREEN TOP tube

Offsite Clinic or Other Locations:
Preferred:4 mL blood in RED TOP tube
Also Acceptable: 4 mL blood in ORANGE RST, GOLD SST, LIME GREEN PST or GREEN TOP tube (see Note under Processing)
Quantity: Requested: 1 mL serum/plasma
Minimum: 0.5 mL serum/plasma

Receiving Instructions: Refrigerate serum/plasma

Note: Serum/plasma must be physically removed from contact with cells within 2 hours of collection. Remove serum/plasma from SST or PST if testing cannot be performed within 24 hours of collection. No addon testing to gel tubes over 24 hours old.

Hemolysis should be avoided.

Stability: Samples are stable 24 hours if refrigerated. Aliquoted samples received frozen are acceptable.
