CSF: Submit as much uncentrifuged CSF as possible
- Handling Instructions
Transport within 30 minutes at room temperature or within 24 hours at refrigerator temperature. Duplicate specimens will be combined. AFB smear is not routinely done on CSF. If smear is specified, specimen is accessioned as AFBHSC, which includes a stain charge.
