Useful For: Therapeutic drug management for patients being treated with pyrazinamide.
Ordering Requirements: A completed UFHealth IDPL Requisition must accompany the order. For accurate interpretation of the concentration, provide the drug dose (specify PO, IV, IM), number of doses per week, and date/time of last dose (for IV, start/end time).
Recommended Draw Times: 2 hours and 6 hours post-dose. Refer to the UFHealth IDPL website for additional information. Submit separate Epic orders for each collection.

Outside Laboratories:
- Centrifuge sample and transfer serum to a separate plastic vial. Freeze serum at -70°C. (Serum frozen at -20°C is also acceptable.) Transport on dry ice.
- Provide separate 1 mL aliquots for each test ordered.
- Submit a completed University of Florida IDPL Requisition along with the DLMP requisition.* Failure to provide the required paperwork may result in test delays.
- *Use client-specific requisition when available. To obtain a client-specific requisition, contact Client Support Services via email at: commserv@uw.edu.
Stability: Frozen: Required; Refrigerated: Unacceptable; Ambient: Unacceptable. Do not allow samples to thaw.

Sendouts:
- UF IDPL Test: PZAH
- Package sample(s) with the completed UF IDPL requisition.
- Ship via FedEx Priority Overnight, Monday through Wednesday, with sufficient dry ice to ensure that samples remain frozen throughout transport. UF IDPL does not recommend shipping frozen samples on Thursday.
- Package samples as close to FedEx pickup as possible to ensure that they remain frozen upon arrival at University of Florida IDPL.
- Samples that arrive thawed will be rejected.
- Do not ship on Friday. Saturday delivery is not available at IDPL and the sample will be compromised.
