Expedite transport to laboratory for same day shipment to referral lab, if possible.

*Due to short sample stability, samples collected outside of UW-MT may be shipped directly to Exagen (using the Exagen shipping kit). If sending directly to Exagen, fax a copy of the UW Lab Medicine test requisition and the Exagen test requisition to UW Lab sendouts at 206-598-7926. Note on the paperwork that the sample was sent directly to Exagen.

Avise shipping kits are available from UW Lab sendouts.

Processing

Receiving Instructions

Expedite Processing. Notify sendouts staff on receipt of samples in UW Lab.

Hold unspun LAVENDER TOP refrigerated. DO NOT FREEZE. If received in AVISE kit, remove sample only if storing refrigerated overnight.

Sendouts: Ship whole blood the same day as collection if possible, Monday-Friday using the AVISE shipping kit. Samples should be shipped with the frozen coolpacks provided in the shipping kit following the enclosed packing instructions and activating the temperature monitoring device (if included in Avise kit). Ok to ship Friday for Saturday delivery.
