Description

The Collagen Diagnostic Laboratory at the UW Laboratory for Precision Diagnostics (LPDx) is a division of UW Medicine Pathology. Refer inquiries (regarding sample requirements, available testing, ordering information, preauthorization, etc.) directly to CDL at the numbers listed below. Do not contact the Lab Medicine resident on-call.

Disorders tested may include: Osteogenesis Imperfecta, Caffey Disease, Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), Loeys-Dietz Syndrome, Arterial Tortuosity Syndrome. Refer to the CDL website for full details.

Processing

Receiving Instructions

SPS, do not log in.

HMC, UW-NW, FHCC: Forward samples to UW-MT for transport to CDL.

UW-MT:

  • Create an entry in the "Pass-through" binder.
  • Alert CDL to new specimens using the phone number on the accompanying requisition.
  • Place sample(s) in the room temperature pick-up bin.
  • Result the pending LABUND (if ordered).

Stability: Maintain and transport samples at ambient temperature. Whole blood is stable for up to 14 days refrigerated.
