Reference Range: 0-0.25 mmol/L Interpretation: Increased levels are diagnostic.
- Interferences and Limitations
Cautions: The test is for D-lactate, a product of bacterial overgrowth in the gastrointestinal tract. It should not be confused with L-lactate, which accumulates in some metabolic acidosis.

Outside Laboratories: Aliquot urine to a separate, screw-top vial, allowing room for expansion. Freeze urine at -20°C.
