January 2022 Test Revisions for Molecular Microbiology

Several Molecular Microbiology test codes are changing effective January 3, 2022 as described below. The old codes will no longer be active after this date. A new version of the order form will be available on 01/03/22.

Apart from the changes in the codes, the results for individual tests will include a separate line for each gene target amplified. Currently results from all assay targets are reported in one line. Example reports are available by contacting molmicdx@uw.edu

Note that in order to maintain consistency with current taxonomic nomenclature several battery names have been modified as well. The updated names are reflected in the table below.

The following batteries will not change:

• 16S rRNA Reflexive Next Generation Sequencing (NGS16S)
• Acanthamoeba and Balamuthia species PCR (AMBPCR)
• Leishmania species DNA detection by PCR (LSHDNA)
• Whole Genome Strain Typing (NGSTYP)
• mecA gene detection (MECPCR)
