This test is also acceptable for patients with a diagnosis of bronchiectasis.
Susceptibility panel for cystic fibrosis lower respiratory cultures:
The Sensititre Gram Negative GNX2F® susceptibility test panel is a micro-dilution susceptibility test to determine quantitative antimicrobial susceptibilities of Enterobacteriaceae and Non-Enterobacteriaceae. Panels are innoculated with a standardized suspension of expontentially growing organisms and incubated at 35°C for 24 to 48 hours. The minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC) for the test organism are determined by assessing the lowest antibacterial concentration showing inhibition of growth.
This test was developed and the performance characteristics determined by the University of Washington Department of Laboratory Medicine. It has not been cleared or approved by the US Food and Drug Administration. This test is used for clinical purposes. It should not be regarded as investigational or for research. This laboratory is certified under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) as qualified to perform high complexity clinical laboratory testing.
