Useful For: Therapeutic drug management for patients being treated with antiretroviral drugs. Trough concentrations (prior to next dose) are recommended for anti-HIV drugs.
Ordering Requirements: A completed University of Florida Infectious Disease Pharmacokinetics Laboratory (IDPL) Requisition must be submitted for all orders.
- For accurate interpretation of the result, the drug dose, number of doses per week, and date/time of last dose is required.
- Leave the billing section blank to be completed by lab staff. Completed requisitions can be uploaded to the Epic Media tab or accompany the patient to blood draw.

Outside Laboratories:
- Centrifuge sample and transfer serum to a separate plastic vial, leaving room at the top for expansion. Freeze serum at -70°C while awaiting shipment. Samples frozen at -20°C are also acceptable. Transport on dry ice.
- A completed University of Florida IDPL requisition should accompany the sample. Alternatively, include the following information on the DLMP requisition: drug dose, number of doses per week, date/time of last dose.
Stability: Frozen (Required): -70°C preferred, -20°C accepted; Refrigerated: Unacceptable; Ambient: Unacceptable. Do not allow samples to thaw.

- Order Mayo Test: ZW288 (Misc UF Health Path Lab) and result the "Test Level Questions" in MayoAccess with the appropriate UF Health test name and code (see table below).
- Include a completed UF Health IDPL test requisition with the MayoAccess batch sheet. Lab staff may fill out the requisition if the drug dosage, number of doses/week, and date/time of last dose are provided.
