COVID/FLU/RSV Respiratory Panel, Rapid PCR
General Information
- Lab Name
- Rapid Flu A & B, RSV, SARS-CoV-2 PCR
- Lab Code
- FABRCV
- Epic Ordering
- Rapid Flu A & B, RSV, SARS-CoV-2 PCR
- Description
This test is intended for symptomatic ED and inpatients at UWMC-NW, UWMC-Montlake, HMC, and symptomatic outpatients at SCCA Lake Union.
- For routine SARS-CoV-2 PCR orders, see NCVQLT.
- For rapid onsite SARS-CoV-2, asymptomatic patients at UWMC-Montlake, HMC, and UWMC-NW, see NCVRPD.
- For all SCCA community site orders, see NCVQLT
- Note, testing for influenza A/B and RSV is generally not indicated at this time. There is negligable community circulation of influenzaA/B (last updated 12/01/21). If routine testing for these viruses is needed, see FLURSV or NCVFLU.
The Cepheid SARS-Cov-2/Flu/RSV Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) assay is intended for the qualitative detection of nucleic acid from SARS-CoV-2, Influenza A & B, and RSV in nasopharyngeal or nasal swabs. Results are for the detection of SARS-CoV-2, Influenza, and RSV RNA.
Laboratories within the United States and its territories are required to report all positive results to the appropriate public health authorities. Negative results do not preclude COVID-19, Influenza A or B, or RSV and should not be used as the sole basis for patient management decisions. Negative results must be combined with clinical observations, patient history, and epidemiological information.
Test availability may be limited by reagent supplies. Orders may be changed to alternative, but medically comparable tests, without notification, e.g. changing the FABRCV to NCVQLT + FLURSV. Turn-around time and applicable CPT codes may be impacted.
