The qualitative HIV2NA assay is used to detect cell-associated HIV-2 DNA and RNA in peripheral blood mononuclear cells. The assay is intended for use with clinical presentation and other laboratory assays to determine or confirm a patient’s HIV-2 infection status. This PCR/RT-PCR assay targets the Long Terminal Repeat (LTR) region of the HIV-2 genome.
